Join the March for Water- It’s yours to protect.

“Rivalry” comes from the same Latin origin as river? Rivalry originally meant to share the same river as another.

>>  Along the way

When you are thirsty you reach to your sink or a water cooler to quench your thirst.  Try to imagine having to walk up to two hours to a well or river to retrieve water and then having to carry it in a heavy pot another two hours back home to be able to cook and provide your family with the water they need.

This is what women and children in other parts of the world have to endure everyday of their lives.  In an act of solidarity, many marchers will be carrying vessels of water on their heads throughout the route of the march.  This gesture will allow many, to first hand, experience what others around the world have to endure to have access to this basic necessary resource.

This is a difficult task and we do not expect individuals to single-handedly carry the water vessels along the route.  We suggest you come in groups or make friends along the march and help carry the vessels - we expect to have 50 vessels for marchers.

If you have a group or school interested in carrying a vessel, let us know. You can do this on the registration form online.

Get creative!! Bring your own water vessel.
